Come join us at the 2^nd Annual Jr. FLL Expo at RIT this Sunday, March 18^th. We, at Vista Teach, are honored and excited to be emceeing this fun-filled and educational event – FREE and open to the public! 11:00 AM Team Registration, 11:30 AM Opening Ceremonies, 2:15 PM Awards Ceremony (with judging by professionals in the Food Industry). Vista Teach at Festival of Ideas Sat., Mar. 3rd!

Vista Teach has again been invited to Brighton’s 28th Annual Festival of Ideas with over 700 students, grades 3-8, attending an educational fun day with choices of 50-minute workshops available for this afternoon-long event (pre-registration required). In collaboration with FIRST LEGO League Team Members from the Brighton RoboWalkers, we will be providing basic LEGO NXT Robotics programming and building concepts at our hands-on workshops. All our LEGO Robotics workshop sessions were completely filled right away and we are looking forward to introducing many new students to this exciting STEM Education learning experience hope to see you there!

FIRST Robotics Competition Mar. 10th at RIT!

As many of you have heard us speak about – the very excitingÂ 2012 (Regional) FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is fast approaching! While the competition is spread over a 4 day period with teams coming from all over the Northeastern states and Canada, we recommend you come on out and see for yourselves what all the excitement is on Saturday, March 10th at RIT (9:00 AM to 5:30 PM at Gordon Field House – just follow all the signs posted throughout the campus!). This event is FREE and open to the public and we can’t say enough about this amazing event that literally changed our lives (Nate and I)! You will be amazed at what you see and experience at this event and I encourage you to bring your kids – even young elementary students will thoroughly enjoy this! On-Line Registration for our Summer 2012 Camps is now open! We are pleased to announce that we are offering 17 camp sessions, Grades 2 thru 12, on the Allendale Columbia School campus as part of their summer programming. While all of our LEGO Robotics and Filmmaking Camps are mornings only, Fencing Camps continue to be offered in the afternoons to provide for full-day camp experiences for those interested in exercising both mind and body…

Calling for JrFLL Team Photos!

Has your JrFLL team been taking photos of your Team journey (or can you start taking some photos)? We, at Vista Teach, are looking to put together a slide show of Jr.FLL Team experiences to display at the RIT Brick City Jr. FLL Expo on Sunday, March 18th – and we would love to include your Team photos!

Please email any Team photos you would like to share with the Rochester Area Jr. FLL Community to Nate@vistateach.biz (please be sure to first obtain permission from all parents!). We would like to recieve all photos by March 1st, if possible.

Also, we thought Teams would enjoy knowing that we are securing professionals from the food industry to serve as volunteer judges for the Expo – this will be a real treat for Team members as they share their research projects on food safety with real professionals actively working in food industry!
